The Sterling Heights Police Officers Association announced its endorsement of Nate Shannon for State Representative in Michigan’s 25th District Wednesday.
“We are endorsing Nate for State Representative because we trust him to do what is best for our community, the same reason we endorsed him for Sterling Heights City Council in 2017,” Sterling Heights Police Officers Association Vice President Ken Mercer said. “He shares our commitment to public safety and ensuring the welfare of community members.”
Shannon was unanimously appointed to a vacant seat on the Sterling Heights city council in 2015. Later that year he was elected by the voters to continue his position as city councilman and is currently serving his third term after re-election in 2017.
“The men and women of the Sterling Heights Police Officers Association work tremendously hard to make Sterling Heights one of Michigan’s safest communities and I’m so proud to have their support,” said Shannon.
The Sterling Heights Police Officers Association joins Rep. Patrick Green, Rep. John Chirkun, Plumbers Local 98, UNITE HERE Local 24 and UA Local 363 to endorse Shannon for State Representative.
